Welcome...
. . . to the website of Jenny Broome. Jenny had a rare brain stem stroke at the age of just 23, but defying the odds she has fought to overcome her illness and give herself the best life possible.

In June 2000 she was told she would never walk, breath unaided, that she would not be able to swallow, or speak, and would remain incontinent. Yet she can do these things  - and she has defied convention with her recovery.

A stroke in the
brain stem is usually a killer. And if it does not kill a person, it usually leaves one 'locked-in', immobile and trapped for the remainder of that life. It is a horrible, horrible condition that, like cancer, has no respect for age, class or general fitness.

Considering the severity of her stroke, Jenny has made a fantastic recovery. With the support of many, many people, from all backgrounds and professional disciplines, she continues to make a great recovery. But it is a tough life.
Since June 26th 2000, the most horrible day ever, we have continued to live our lives in the face of adversity. And believe me, we have had our ups and downs and pressures from all sorts of places. Yet, we get through it all because we love each other and need each other.

I hope you enjoy the website, feel free to comment to me at
